I do not intend to present concrete convictions, rather I see the processes of both making and viewing as a vehicle to move toward meaning. Vine charcoal, made of burned willow wood, has been my material of choice since 2012.

This collection of art encompasses a few different aspects of my work.  The nude figure drawings are made from working with a model in order to improve my craft.  There are also preparatory works made for the series “The way the story told itself to me…”.

This series is a family portrait trajectory beginning with immigration to the United States and moving toward the present day. Through this exploration I aim to dissect the perceived identity of both myself and my family.
